One more kiss before I go
Out of the body into dreams’ glow
Place it on my sleepy heart
In the pulse that I depart
To float the languid, soothing place
Lit by the light of God’s own face
I to flit from beam to beam
Breath by breath, dream to dream
Forgotten earth behind me laid
Held my flesh within that clay
In my travels I will know
The kiss you gave my path to show
A beacon, love, to guide my way
When I return in breaking day
To stretch and warble, wake and play,
One more kiss, perhaps I’ll say
To brush the yawn from bright newday
